This January transfer window proves to be a period of feverish speculation and potential big-money moves. Several notable players are being linked with transfers out of their current teams. We examine a selection of the major names who might be changing clubs this month.

Antoine Semenyo

Although the Black Stars' failure to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations, this has kept the player available, it appears an important move is close. This Bournemouth attacker possesses a deal with a sizeable buy-out clause applicable for a two-week period at the start of the month. Recent developments point to the Premier League champions are now the frontrunners for his services. Other suitors such as Tottenham and Chelsea reportedly have turned their attention to other options, leaving clubs such as Liverpool or Manchester United to make a late bid.

M. Guéhi

The England defender has continued to impress for Crystal Palace this season a previous move to Anfield collapsing. As his contract set to expire in the close season, this represents the London club's final chance to obtain a transfer fee for their skipper. A host of top clubs, including City and several European giants including Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, and Barcelona, are believed to hold an interest. Yet, a winter exit remains unlikely, particularly given the coach's dependence on the defender.

Brennan Johnson

This Wales winger has found first-team opportunities hard to come by at Spurs this term. Although being the club's top scorer the previous campaign, he has begun just a small number of Premier League games. It is understood the North London club would be willing to consider a sale for the correct valuation, believed to be in the around £40 million. The Cherries are currently at the front of the queue, with Crystal Palace, Aston Villa, and Brentford also showing an inquiry.

R. Neves

The Portugal playmaker could be poised for a return to the Premier League after a spell in the Saudi Pro League. Still just 28, while his contract expiring in the summer of 2026, he represents a possible opportunity. Teams such as Manchester United and Liverpool have been linked with the former Wolves man. Additionally, there have been rumours from Spanish media that he is willing to accept a reduced salary for a switch to Real Madrid.

Marc-André ter Stegen

This veteran German shot-stopper is now as the third option at Barça under new coach Hansi Flick. Having lost his place and undergone surgery, a winter exit seems increasingly likely. Aston Villa were initially mentioned as a possible destination, but that move now appears unlikely. Instead, interest from Turkey and Saudi Arabia are reportedly expressing interest in the keeper.

Ivan Toney

This prolific England striker has continued finding the net regularly in Saudi Arabia. A return to the Premier League might boost his dwindling chances of being in the national World Cup. However, arranging a transfer poses significant hurdles. Al-Ahli are reluctant to part with him, and his alleged enormous salary make any agreement complicated. With his existing contract nearing its end, many English sides – including Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Tottenham – are keeping tabs on the situation. Juventus are desperate to secure the youngster to a new long-term contract but face a battle to retain one of the continent's brightest young talents.

K. Smit

The much-admired Dutch teenage midfielder has earned parallels to Kevin De Bruyne for his playing style. Following impressing at the U19 Euros, Smit has become a regular in the AZ Alkmaar side. This teenager is heavily tipped to complete a major transfer this month. Newcastle United are believed to be frontrunners, but are facing stiff rivalry from Real Madrid for a signing valued at around twenty-two million pounds.
